Friends first, writers second.
Arizona is home for Ann and her amazing husband, Michael. Several chronic conditions share the address — uninvited and unrelenting — and so does the mercy and grace of God. The two have kept the same schedule for years now, and only one of them has ever run out of anything. Give her a book, a trail, or an empty corner that needs something in it, and she’s happy — a house that feels like somewhere you’d want to stay a while is her kind of work.
Southern California is home for Jenny, her husband, Dan, and the loud, good life they made with their kids — grown now, though the noise is welcome anytime they come back. She’s walked the cancer road, and then walked it again, and knows the particular quiet of a waiting room better than she ever wanted to. A body that kept giving out eventually ended her working life; it never ended the rest of it. She knows what it is to be carried, which is why she keeps writing, keeps pouring, and keeps believing that God’s mercy meets people one cup at a time — she’ll take that mercy with good coffee in the morning, a hot bath at the end of it, and her fur babies underfoot for everything in between.
Whether you’re the one in the waiting room or the one holding a hand in it, there’s a seat here for you.
